In today?s market, the technological benefits of any specific home are as closely considered as more conventional things like square feet location, floorplan, etc..
According to a recent survey of Realtors, conducted by the Consumer Electronics Association, the sale of home cinema, home security, home automation, energy management systems are selling at a far greater rate than ever before.
In a press release, CEA employee Rhonda Daniel claimed that the relationship between advanced home technologies and real-estate is a close one. She added that, even though the market needs to rebuild itself slightly before these technologies begin to play a bigger role in the sale of properties agentsmust be familiar enough with these technologies to talk with their clients about them.
The survey pointed to the fact that the quantity of real estate agents involved in the purchase, sale or show of a home equipped with advanced technology has significantly increased in the last two years. As a Houston Heights Realtor I?ve found that new homes must have the latest technologies.
The proportion of agents involved in showing integrated systems were far higher than in previous years. For instance, agents showing homes with monitored security systems were around 93%; those showing home theater or home theater-wired were 89%; those showing houses with energy management systems are 51%; and those showing houses with home automation and management systems were 54%. Accordig to the same survey, 68% percent of the realtors interviewed believe that these home technologies will play an increasingly significant part in the sale of these properties within the next half decade. To take advantage of the ultimate recovery the market will go through, builders should begin to make preparations for that eventuality. If the CE industry wishes to show that it could be a competent partner, then providing realtors with the information regarding the fine details and potential benefits of these new technologies would not go astray.
Roughly 2/3 of the agents interviewed said that their customers were enthusiastic about the homes containing these technologies. Given this info, individuals who are considering selling their houses should think about upgrading their homes.
If you are not prepared to go through all the hassle of installing all this technology, then you may decide to prep your home for these technologies by installing extra electrical outlets, cable lines and phone outlets. The absence of the latest technology could be a let down for prospective purchasers.
Think about these things before listing your house for sale.
